For all those of you who have been waiting: the baby goats have finally arrived!
Bop, the brown and white pygmy who was over a week overdue, and who was getting wider than she was high, finally popped early this morning and gave birth to beautiful twin boys. Pygmies always seem to take these things very much in her stride: she managed with no assistance, cleaned up and was eating grass by the time the volunteers arrived. The happy family are unsurprisingly a favourite with customers: Bop risks putting all that weight back on again with all the extra food people are offering.
Seven more nannies are still due, so we could be looking at another 14 kids in the next month. Visitors to the farm are being asked to write down name suggestions (this year they will all begin with 'B') since the volunteers may eventually run out of ideas!
