Tu-wit to you all! My name is Tommy, and I am the Tawny Owl at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm. Despite my name, I am a female Tawny, and so I twitter. (If I were a male I would say 'tu-wu'.) From my post at the farm entrance and my aviary at the top, I keep an eye on all that happens at Totnes Rare Breeds, and keep you updated. Since us owls are very efficient, I deliver my news in beak-sized chunks: no more than 140 characters each time. What a very trendy bird I am! Mione the screech owl is quite jealous - but you wouldn't catch her twittering.

We have had a male Red Squirrel donated to us from Knowsley Safari Park. He arrived safely all the way from Liverpool - very exciting!

My friend Merlin a Siberian Eagle owl has done a silly thing and flew off two days ago. There is a very solemn feeling around the farm.

Exciting news! We have two new pairs of harvest mice to establish our own breeding programme! Hopefully we'll have babies soon! What a hoot!

We received a fabulous letter & donation from Landscove Primary this week following their visit - thank you so much! What a spoilt owl I am!

We're finding a lot of young hedgehogs are being bought into us at the moment!

We have successfully bred our very first pair of Nene Geese and they have just been collected to go to their new home.

My wild friends and I are very vocal at the moment, we like our Christmas carols.
